California Young Playwrights Contest

Are you under 19? The deadline for the California Young Playwrights Contest is June 1!

Professionals will evaluate your entry, and if you're one of the winners, your play will receive a production. This is an educational program focused on the development of new plays - so if you're a winner, be prepared to revise your script with the support of a professional dramaturg (or writing friend), director and actors. Every entrant may request an individualized script critique.

Full details and entry form are available at

We're also looking for script readers to help with the selection process. Are you an adult who is interested in reading submissions? We'll be holding two orientations: Sunday, May 17 at 11am, and Wednesday, May 27 at 6:30pm. Contact for more details and to RSVP for an orientation session.
