Playwrights Project will conduct auditions at: 
Theatre Arts School of San Diego

Please prepare a 1 minute contemporary monologue appropriate for young people.
Bring two copies of your headshot and resume.
Program A Only: Please sing 16 bars of up tempo musical theatre song; bring sheet music in a binder for the accompanist. There will be a dance call as well, wear appropriate clothing and shoes.
We will likely cast younger characters with older actors.
Total of 5-7 performances per play (several on weekday mornings). 
Be prepared to list scheduling day and evening conflicts when you sign up for auditions

Breakdown Company A
Trash! The Musical by Naomi Melville - Trash tries to find its purpose in this heartwarming musical. 
TRASH - A collection of papers that were thrown away. Optimistic and inspires hope.
RUSTY - A rusty trash can attached to several others. Cynical and irritable.
TEXAS - A broken calculator. Cheerful and optimistic.
DOLLY - An old torn up ballerina doll. Her hair is chopped short, her clothes are worn.
WRITER - An aspiring yet unsuccessful writer, probably a college student.
 
Just Let Me Help by Marco Herrera & Chris Johnson - Financial difficulties are exposed when a father and son go camping.
FATHER - Single father, had son at an early age. Poor, does back-breaking work.
SON - 16 years old; Good student, worried about his dad, wants to get a job to help out.

Sea of Fog by Jack Ventimilia - Two outsiders struggle to understand religion.
DENISE - 17 years old; Religious young woman who puts on a tough exterior.
DAXX - 17 years old; Sensitive young man who's failing school, and has an incredibly rocky home life.
 
A Mother's Mother by Emma Kuli - A teen's pregnancy reveals the bond between mother and daughter.
BilLIE - 17 years old; She was the perfect daughter...and then she was very pregnant
MOM- 35 years old; Fiery, stubborn, and familiar with Billie's teenage pregnancy struggles
 
Have Hope by Shyla de Hoop - Two cats journey to find their missing mother.
HOPE - A female cat, 6 days old.
FAITH - A female cat, 6 days old. Sister of Hope.
JAY - A male cat, 4 days old.
MARY - A female cat, 5 years old. Mother to Hope and Faith.
