Playwrights Project is undertaking a strategic planning process. We are analyzing our programs and mission to shape our plans for the coming years, and we need your valuable insights to guide us!

The response to our survey has been tremendous so far, however we want to ensure everyone has time to provide their input! The survey will remain open for feedback until Monday, April 22nd.
Your opinion matters to us, and we hope that you'll complete a brief (5-10 minute) survey to share your observations and suggestions to help us determine how we can best serve you and San Diego at large.
Our board and staff thanks you for your support!
Playwrights Project's "Reflections from Inside"
at San Diego REP
Come hear "Inmate Stories" inspired by "Station Eleven"
Short scenes by playwrights in our Out of the Yard program will be presented by Write Out Loud on May 3rd at San Diego Writer's Ink as "Inmate Stories." The writing was inspired by "Station Eleven" as part of the "Read Imagine Create" program, which celebrates the NEA Big Read, a National Endowment for the Arts program that encourages communities to read, share and get excited about a good book.

You can learn more about Write Out Loud's upcoming performances and the NEA Big Read in the San Diego Union Tribune!

2019 California Young Playwrights Contest
is open for submissions!

Playwrights Project invites students to submit scripts to the 35th
California Young Playwrights Contest for Californians under the age of 19.

Interested in receiving a postcard for your child or classrooms of student writers? Send us an email at write@playwrightsproject.org
There is no entry fee, and every young writer who requests feedback on their script will receive an email or letter with suggestions for future revisions. The writers of winning plays are assigned a playwriting mentor to further develop their piece, and the resulting scripts are professionally produced in Playwrights Project's annual Plays by Young Writers Festival at a professional theater in San Diego.
